One of the key terms that marketing people search for when looking for corporate filmmakers is video production companies near me. But we think it’s important to choose a team that understands your local market, can manage production efficiently from concept to delivery – but which also has a serious passion for the city region and a knowledge of its economic imperatives and the warmth of its people and communities.
A strong example of our work which incorporates interviews with business leaders, academics from the universities and footage taken from our own video library is this Manchester’s inward investment agency, Midas. It was commissioned by MIDAS for The New York Times online and filmed to attract attention to Manchester’s burgeoning world class robotics expertise. The film uses a rich mixture of photography, motion graphics and interviews with academics form Salford university, MMU and Manchester University as well as featuring NERIC, the Northern Engineering and robotics Innovation Centre.
The film can be viewed here. We have included a full film script at the end of this article.

Manchester and the Robots: Film Scripts.
Corporate Video Production Sample Script written for the ‘Manchester and the Robots’ Film linked above.
Video Production Script:
Manchester was the birthplace of the first Industrial Revolution. People often think of it as driven by cotton and textiles, but what really interests me is how much value was created through machinery.
Now, the North of England Robotics Innovation Centre is a multi-million-pound facility that brings industry and academia together in a way they haven’t before. We’re placing Manchester at the absolute heart of the Fourth Industrial Revolution — and it’s about robotics.
We are international leaders in automated engineering systems, or robotics, that help improve people’s lives. We have technologies such as advanced grippers that can pick up very small, fragile objects or huge iron girders. We also have autonomous vehicles — physical devices that directly support and enhance human life.
The Advanced Machinery and Productivity Institute will be a game changer in developing technologies for machinery manufacturing and research. It will train people for future employers and investors in the region, and it will help grow exports to more than £2 billion per year. This area is already well known for its role in the Industrial Revolution — this is simply the next stage of that development.
When you see science fiction films about robotics, robots are everywhere — in the home, helping people with everyday tasks. That’s what Industry 5.0 here in Greater Manchester will help define, and it will be defined in a way that makes people comfortable with integrating robotics into their lives.
All of the work we do is leading-edge, cutting-edge technology. But where we’re moving now is toward more autonomous — and trustworthy — autonomous systems. The work I’m particularly interested in focuses on nuclear robotics. We use robots to support material characterisation, to understand what materials exist in a facility, and to help dismantle those facilities without putting humans at risk.
We’re excited about understanding how we train people for jobs that don’t yet exist.
My mission is to normalise diversity and inclusion within the innovation ecosystem. MIA is the first Black-led innovation asset in the North of England, and it is a net-zero industrialisation centre. Diversity is not contributing to innovation enough — and MIA is going to ensure that diversity does have real impact.
An important way to achieve this is by normalising the inclusion of Black people within the innovation system. We’re targeting young people at school, bringing them into places like MIA, so they can aspire to become robotics technicians, engineers, automators, and scientists of tomorrow.
I work at Bouygues Energy Services. We offer autonomous solutions to high-tech sectors across multiple disciplines that are safer and more reliable. Through our consulting services, we engage organisations at the concept stage, helping them understand their needs and then developing autonomous system solutions around those requirements — balancing degrees of autonomy and human control.
Manchester attracts the best talent from all over the world. When people collaborate toward the same goals, they accomplish big things more quickly. It all comes back to Manchester.
We want mutually beneficial relationships with business partners. We want to understand how to bring our inventions into the marketplace. The Fourth Industrial Revolution only happens with great people and great skills.
Manchester is such an attractive city to live in that brilliant people from across the country — and around the world — are coming here to work in digital technologies, advanced machinery, and advanced materials, helping us create a vibrant Fourth Industrial Revolution.
